God Wants to Answer, Just Ask.

Read - Matthew 7:7-11

Effective Prayer

7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

9 “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! 11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

Think About What You Read

Q1: How well are you doing at humbling yourself and asking the Father for answered prayer?

Q2: How much do you believe the Father wants to bless you with answers?

Q3: What three things did Jesus teach his disciples to do?

Q4: What would result if they did them?

Action Point

Take a moment to write a prayer in your phone or journal humbling yourself before God. Ask him to talk to you about your motives. Tell him that you will submit to his will—that you only want what he wants. Then ask him to grant your request.

Q5: Would anyone like to share their prayer, or something that the Holy Spirit showed you while writing your prayer?
